				      <title>Beacon Roads Cycling Club</title>
				      <link>http://www.plugandplay.org.uk/events/index.php&#63;com=detail&amp;eID=147741</link>
<description> (February 05th, 2012) On the first Sunday of every month, we have an Introductory Ride to which everyone is welcome. The purpose of this club run is to provide a relatively short, easy-paced ride suitable for newcomers or riders who are not yet confident of being able to ride with the main club runs. &amp;nbsp; The leader will choose a route on quiet roads without too many hills and nobody will be left behind. You can expect the ride to cover about 20-30 miles including a stop at a caf&amp;eacute; for refreshments. The leader&amp;#39;s aim is to help you enjoy the ride and to answer any questions you may have about the Beacon Roads Cycling Club.&amp;nbsp; There is no minimum age for Beacon membership. You can join in&amp;nbsp;with&amp;nbsp;the club&amp;#39;s activities as soon as they are ready to, and (where relevant) as soon as the rules of the event allow. &amp;nbsp; These&amp;nbsp;monthly introductory&amp;nbsp;rides&amp;nbsp;should be within your capability if you&amp;nbsp;are already used to riding for, say, at least an hour at maybe 10 to 12 mph. To complete one of&amp;nbsp;the other&amp;nbsp;regular rides, you need to be used to riding further and faster. &amp;nbsp; If&amp;nbsp;you are fit enough&amp;nbsp;with the relevant experience, you&amp;nbsp;might be able to complete an introductory ride at twelve to fourteen, and a Sunday club run at fifteen or sixteen; but, of course, everyone is different. &amp;nbsp; If you are under 16 and take part unaccompanied by an adult, the run leader will need to know if you are attending with&amp;nbsp;parental consent and you&amp;nbsp;should also to take a look at&amp;nbsp;the club run guidelines. &amp;nbsp; It is particularly important that everyone concerned understands that a Beacon ride is simply a group of friends on a joint excursion; we look out for each other, as friends do, but there isn&amp;#39;t an organiser with legal responsibility for the rest. &amp;nbsp;Membership of the&amp;nbsp;Cycling Club&amp;nbsp;isn&amp;#39;t expensive: &amp;pound;15 per year for over-18s, &amp;pound;10 for under-18s and social members, and &amp;pound;25 for families living at one address.</description>
