				      <title>South Birmingham Junior Badminton Club</title>
				      <link>http://www.plugandplay.org.uk/events/index.php&#63;com=detail&amp;eID=190739</link>
<description> (May 20th, 2012) If you have a keen interest in badminton, and would like to play outside school hours, then this is ideal for you. &amp;nbsp; The South Birmingham Junior Badminton Club started in March 1997, and has steadily grown since. The club runs for 2 hours on Sunday afternoons, and is open to anyone between the ages of 8 and 16, and can cater for standards from complete beginner to county player. &amp;nbsp; Each Sunday session comprises coaching, competitions and fun games, but also other activities such as tournaments, friendly matches and outings. The emphasis is on &amp;#39;fun&amp;#39;, but at the same time you will improve your game through coaching. &amp;nbsp;Juniors will progress to the Thursday colts team on reaching an acceptable standard, and there will then be the opportunity to get involved in competitive matches against other clubs. The Colts team runs alongside the adult club on Thursday evenings, and welcomes players generally between the ages of 14 and 17. &amp;nbsp; The club also serves as a progression from the Sunday junior club to the adult club. The resident coaches give further coaching, and have developed players to county standard. The club also fields teams in the local league, as well as running tournaments.&amp;nbsp; The club will provide rackets and shuttles, as well as refreshments, all you will need to bring is appropriate footwear and clothing.&amp;nbsp; This popular club is now full with a waiting list in place, please email Phil Darlow to go on the list, and if you would like further information and an application form. </description>
