POW! Funding Scheme
Guidance for Activity Providers
Update: POW Funding is now available throughout Worcestershire!
What is POW funding? - POW (Positive Opportunities Worcestershire) is Worcestershire's name for the Extended Services Disadvantaged Subsidy which is a Central Government funded project. The funding is designed to subsidise access to out of school hours activities for children and young people who are eligible for free school meals and those that are in care.
Who is managing the POW funding? Schools are responsible for managing and administering the funding and will be informing all those children and young people that are eligible.
How will children and young people choose activities? A key requirement of POW funding is that children and young people decide how to use their entitlement. To help this process schools will signpost children and young people to the plug and play website and parents to the FIS.
